Insurance is a major player in Ohio when it comes to employment opportunities. It’s home to 245 insurance companies and between now and 2024, Ohio’s insurance industry will require approximately 29,000 new employees.

To prepare individuals to fill these positions, Ohio education institutes are offering students programs they need to learn about the industry and set themselves up to have a successful career in insurance.

If you’re exploring majors or considering a career change, we’ve compiled a helpful list of ten Ohio colleges and universities with specialized insurance degrees, along with some facts about each school, because we know a lot of factors go into deciding where to enroll.

  • Bowling Green State University: Specialization and Minor in Insurance

  • Clark State Community College: Associate Degree in Business Management with an Insurance Option
    Location: Springfield, Ohio

  • Franklin University: Bachelor's in Risk Management and Insurance
    Location: Columbus, Ohio

  • Kent State University: Bachelor's in Insurance Studies (Property & Casualty and Life & Health concentrations available)
